Comments: This site is a treasure! Thank you so much for the work that you do to maintain it. This is a part of Indiana history that should be included in history books in our schools. The site is very informative for sure. It has been a great asset to my genealogy research of my people that come from the Riley's, Norton, Thompson, Bass, Walden, Stewart, Anderson, and Scott people. I share this site often as a reference to others with the same background. I do have a question though, can I have my DNA test results on here? I have alot of matches that have associations with Lost Creek. I would like to make more connections.

Comments: I did the 23andMe test. I use my name as username. Is there anything else you need from me?
Admin reply: You appear to have 0.5% Native American ancestry. It's important to remember that it only takes 7 generations to go from full-blooded Native American, to having less than 1% Native American ethnicity. You are a 4th cousin match to Larry Russell, who is a descendant of Elizabeth Stewart, but it appears that you share common 'Anderson' cousins. The most probable source of your Native American ancestry would be the Nansemond Tribe of Virginia, thru common 'Bass' ancestors.

Comments: Hello - researching the family tree and have traced back to Rebecca Stewart. Her son Tazewell is great-great-great grandfather. Trying to see if there is the Native American connection. I now live in Haymarket, VA so at need to make the trip to Lost Creek Settlement for research. Any ideas/thoughts/comments/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Admin reply: Hi Kevin, Good to hear from you. I believe that you are the first descendant of Tazewell to contact us, so we don't have any DNA results to use. My recommendation would be to test at 23andme.com. Take the non-medical test. It will be the same price as Ancestry.com, but will include your paternal and maternal DNA. 23andme is better for confirming how you are related.

Admin reply: Good to hear from you, and I hope that I have been of some help. If you have taken a DNA test, please let me know where you took it, and what your username is, so we can see if we have a DNA match. If you haven't, and decide to take one in the future, please take it at 23andme.com.
